The goal of sterilization is to prevent the introduction pathogens \u2013 disease-causing microorganisms \u2212 into the body. Sterilization is imperative for tools and devices used in contact with the body such as medical and dental applications and in biomedical research settings.<\/p>\n<h4>Disinfection<\/h4>\n<p>Disinfection is a lower grade of sterilization and involves only the destruction of microorganisms in their vegetative (or non-sporing) state. Disinfection does not involve the destruction of bacterial spores. Sterilization is the only acceptable standard for surgical purposes although disinfection may be suitable for some purposes.<\/p>\n<h4>Sterilization at Zeus<\/h4>\n<p>Zeus specializes in product applications where ultra-pure products are required and used in sterile conditions.
